* The Megger S1-1068/2 Expert 10kV HV Insulation Resistance Tester combines the full suite of features from Megger’s Essential and Advanced ranges along with additional capabilities to provide professionals working in high-voltage environments with a reliable instrument that is capable of measuring insulation resistance measurements of up to 10kV.

* The S1-1068/2 supports a wide range of insulation diagnostic tests, including Polarisation Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Dielectric Discharge (DD), Step Voltage (SV), Ramp Test, and Polarisation Dependent Current (PDC). It also includes Megger's patented PI Predictor (Plp), which estimates PI results early in the test cycle. The RE>Act mode improves measurement reliability by detecting and compensating for reabsorption currents, making sure that insulation faults are not masked by residual charge. The S1-1068/2 offers selectable test voltages from 250V to 10kV and a resistance measurement range of up to 35TΩ, making it suitable to use across varied applications.

* The S1-1068/2 boasts superior noise rejection that can operate effectively with interference levels as high as 8mA, perfect for use in electrically noisy environments. Additionally, the adaptive filtering and high-voltage noise suppression make it ideal for use in substations and transmission yards where traditional testers may struggle. Users are able to conduct tests from a safe distance thanks to the remote operation via USB, which improves safety in hazardous conditions. Plus, the S1-1068/2 also supports real-time data streaming and logging, with time- and date-stamped results transferable via USB or Bluetooth® to Megger’s CertSuite Asset or PowerDB software for seamless asset management and reporting.

* Safety was important when it came to the design of the S1-1068/2, as it boasts a CAT IV 600V rating up to 3000 metres altitude, reinforced insulation, a five-tier voltage warning system, and a dual-case construction with a shock-resistant outer shell and fire-retardant inner casing. To ensure longevity and safety in all environments, the S1-1068/2 is IP65 rated when the lid is closed, protecting it against dust and moisture ingress, as well as operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C.

* In terms of performance, the S1-1068/2 delivers resistance accuracy of ±5% up to 2TΩ and ±20% up to 20 TΩ and supports current measurements from 0.01mA to 6mA and capacitance measurements from 10nF to 25µF with ±10% accuracy. The S1-1068/2 can either be powered by a rechargeable battery or AC mains, with a quick-charge feature allowing for one hour of operation after only 30 minutes of charging. It comes with a battery life that supports up to 4.5 hours of continuous testing at 10kV with a 100MΩ load.

* The Megger S1-1068/2 includes two sets of 3 metre test leads, one with medium insulated clips and the other with large insulated clips, designed for safe and reliable connection to a variety of test pieces.
