* The Megger S1-1568/2 Expert 15kV Insulation Resistance Tester is designed to be used by utility engineers, industrial maintenance teams, and electrical contractors, providing precise resistance measurements up to 15kV which is essential for assessing the integrity of cables, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other critical assets in power generation and transmission systems.

* The S1-1568/2 supports a wide range of insulation diagnostics such as Polarisation Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Step Voltage (SV), Ramp Test, Dielectric Discharge (DD), and Polarisation Dependent Current. It also includes Megger's proprietary PI Predictor (Plp), which calculates PI values early in the test cycle to streamline workflows and reduce downtime. The RE>Act function intelligently compensates for reabsorption currents, resulting in accurate readings even in complex insulation systems.

* With selectable test voltages from 250V to 15kV and a resistance measurement range that extends up to 35TΩ, the S1-1568/2 offers unmatched versatility and precision. It excels in electrically noisy environments thanks to its industry-leading noise rejection, which can operate effectively with interference levels of up to 8mA, while adaptive filtering and high-voltage suppression deliver reliable performance in substations, transmission yards, and industrial plants.

* Remote operation is made possible via the USB which improves safety and convenience and allows technicians to conduct tests from a secure distance. The S1-1568/2 supports real-time data streaming and logging, with results easily exported via USB or Bluetooth® to Megger’s optional CertSuite Asset or PowerDB software for comprehensive asset management and reporting.

* The S1-1568/2 features a dual-layer case with a shock-resistant outer shell and fire-retardant inner casing, perfect for rugged field use. It is rated CAT IV 1000V at altitudes of up to 4000 metres with an IP65 rating (when the lid is closed) offering protection against dust and water ingress. Plus, it also operates reliably in extreme temperatures from -20°C to +50°C, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

* The S1-1568/2 delivers resistance accuracy of ±5% up to 3TΩ and ±20% up to 20TΩ as and measures current from 0.01mA to 6mA as well as capacitance from 10nF to 50µF with ±10% accuracy. Powered by a rechargeable battery or AC mains, the S1-1568/2 features a fast-charge capability which provides one hour of operation after just 30 minutes of charging, and supports up to 4.5 hours of continuous testing at 15kV with a 100MΩ load.
